Homeless Youth

Linquist Apartments is a $4.8 million development sponsored by RS Eden and Life's Linquist ApartmentsMissing Link. The building houses 24 efficiencies for homeless youth and young adults emerging from foster care or correctional institutions. This substance-free living environment was built with a complex mix of public and private financing to help house some of the over 400 homeless youth in the Twin Cities area on any given night.

Homeless Families

Horizon Crest Apartments is a partnering effort between the Salvation Army, Nevada HAND, Inc. and the City of Las Vegas to create a 78-unit development with 70 new affordable family housing units in Horizon Crestnorthern Las Vegas. Twelve units are dedicated to the chronically homeless or disabled and the Salvation Army will provide all the necessary support services to residents on their adjacent campus. The project will also include a community building and play area.

 

Homeless Women and Women with Children

Jeremiah Program targets women dedicated to complete a post-secondary education or training program. The Jeremiah Program offers empowerment training; life skills education and intensive individual coaching; personal Jeremiah Programdevelopment planning in the areas of parenting, career development, self-esteem, time management, financial independence, self-discipline, physical and emotional health, safety, and community connectedness; and resources for tutoring, job coaching, career exploration, emotional support/counseling, and spiritual development. The Program provides a safe, nurturing, and creative child development center which includes school-readiness training for children.

Near North Apartments


This five-story, 96-unit building in Chicago takes a fresh approach to SRO development with a remarkable design by noted architect Helmut Jahn.

Near North features many “green” elements rarely found in affordable housing developments, including aeroturbines, solar thermal collectors, a grey water system and recycled rainwater. Sponsor Mercy Lakefront, provides on-site supportive services that help formerly homeless residents reclaim their independence.
