The NEF team had a wonderful time at the St. Catherine De Vigri Villas dedication ceremony last week! We were thrilled to join our partners at Catholic Charities Housing Services, elected officials and the Tieton community to celebrate this incredible development. NEF's Tony Daguanno, Lisa Decker and Rodney Pruitt attended the event in support.
The Tieton community now has 53 units of affordable housing -- the first new, affordable housing development in 30 years -- dedicated to farmworkers and their families. The development continues the decades-long revitalization of a small farming community and commemorates the experience of Latinx farmworkers through visually impressive mosaics that represent the strength and sense of community these farmworkers bring to our nation.
Last September, St. Catherine De Vigri Villas was awarded the Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Award in the "Rural" category, an award that was presented in Washington, D.C. by Senator Maria Cantwell.
Thank you CCHS for your passion and advocacy for the farmworker community and congratulations on a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony!
