Our final Affordable Housing Finance (AHF) Readers’ Choice Award winner is Lucille and Bruce Terwilliger Place. This Arlington-based development took the top prize in the Urban category and is comprised of 160 units of affordable housing with a 50 percent Veteran preference.
Additionally, Terwilliger Place is home to a new and improved, 6,000 square foot space for the American Legion Post 139, who worked with our partners at Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) to redevelop their site in Virginia Square. Now, in the heart of Arlington County, veterans can enjoy living in a community made for them. With nearby shops, access to transportation, community amenities, and supportive services, veterans can feel empowered to build and thrive in a new, safe, and stable home.
Congratulations to our partners, investors and all involved in making this winning development a template for future projects looking to cater to a large Veteran community!
