Wilkes Villa Apartments will undergo major rehabilitation work, which will revive and preserve 174 affordable housing units in an amenity-rich area. All of the town house style units will be affordable for households with incomes up to 60% of the area median income (AMI), with more than 90% of the units catering to small families (two and three bedrooms) to large and multi-generational families (four and five bedrooms). Since opening its doors in 1972, the building has only undergone cosmetic improvements, so the renovations will offer families upgraded units with new kitchens and baths, air conditioning, and other on-site community amenities.
