Our second affordable housing development honored at the 2024 Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards ceremony in Washington D.C was Millworks Family Housing in the Small Metropolitan Housing category.
Millworks Family Housing (MFH) is an innovative Public-Private partnership that provides 83 units of energy-efficient, permanently affordable family housing restricted at 30%, 50%, and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), including 15 units serving formerly homeless households. Located in the Port of Bellingham’s waterfront redevelopment district in the heart of downtown Bellingham, Washington, MFH is one of the first of a multi-year, multi-phase development, Mercy Housing Northwest (MHNW) and the city worked closely to integrate the project into a larger master plan. The ground floor is home to a six-classroom Early Learning Center operated by the YMCA of Whatcom County.
Congratulations to our partners at Mercy Housing Northwest and the investors involved in making this outstanding affordable housing development possible. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Representative Rick Larsen (D-WA-2) presented the award at the official award ceremony.
