Last week, NEF's Emily Chen spoke at the ribbon cutting for the new Betances Family Apartments (Betances VI) in the Mott Haven area of the Bronx. This affordable housing development with permanent supportive housing services provides 101 new homes.
Of the deeply affordable apartments, 70 are set aside for extremely low-, low-, and moderate-income New Yorkers and 30 units are reserved for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. There are 19 studio apartments, 44 one-bedroom apartments, 24 two-bedroom apartments and 13 three-bedroom apartments.
The Bridge, a local nonprofit, will provide on-site supportive services for the 30 residents who previously experienced homelessness, including case management, counseling and linkage to mental health and substance use assistance.
NEF is proud to collaborate with such dedicated partners, including:
Lemle & Wolff Companies
Alembic Community Development LLC
The Bridge
New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)
NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development
BNY
Thank you to these partners for their commitment to expanding affordable and permanent supportive housing in one of our nation's most expensive cities.
