Betances VI Brings Supportive Housing to the Bronx

September 27, 2022

“This building exemplifies how NYCHA is a driving force in the multi-agency effort to create and preserve affordable housing in New York City. We are excited to be here to celebrate the completion of the building's superstructure, and we look forward to welcoming over 100 households into their new homes soon,” said NYCHA Executive Vice President of Real Estate Jonathan Gouveia.

Last week’s topping off ceremony of the Betances VI was a success as partners came together to celebrate the completion of the Betances Family Apartments superstructure.

Situated in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx, this new development will create 101 units of affordable housing through the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) Extremely Low and Low-Income Affordability (ELLA) program, which means that homes will be affordable to households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income. Additionally, 30 units will be set aside as supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals.

This is an incredible achievement for New York and an outstanding collaboration that will bring a range of amenities and on-site supportive services to residents. NEF is proud to have worked with such wonderful partners including:

Lemle & Wolff Companies
Alembic Community Development LLC
The Bridge
BNY Mellon
New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)
NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development

Congratulations to all of our partners and thank you for continuing the fight to provide stable, safe affordable housing to communities in need.
