Running a marathon is a big accomplishment and a testament to overcoming obstacles, so that's why our partners at Excelerate Housing Group named their new affordable housing development in Long Beach, CA after the number of miles in a marathon: 26 Point 2. The grand opening was well-attended by LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn, Mayor Rex Richardson, and Councilmembers Kristina Duggan and Daryl Supernaw.
This newly opened complex has certainly gone the distance by overcoming site obstacles that caused a building redesign and offering 77 affordable homes for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Located near the Traffic Circle on Pacific Coast Highway, 26 Point 2 provides onsite social services through Harbor Interfaith Services with four case managers on site nearly every day of the week.
26 Point 2 marks another milestone for the developer as its first completed project since the company's inception. Congratulations to Excelerate on its first success of many!
