Earlier this month, NEF's Tina Belanger and Danny Gutman attended the groundbreaking of Lakeview Landing in Chicago. This affordable housing development, led by our friends at OTR (Over The Rainbow Association) and Lakeview Lutheran Church, will replace the existing church structure to create 37 one-bedroom apartments, with two units being reserved for those needing permanent supportive housing, and a ground-floor area used as a religious assembly space.
At the heart of OTR's mission is providing independent living options for individuals with physical disabilities, and this development is no exception. The six-story building will be fully accessible and will encourage mobility-impaired residents to direct their own care.
NEF is proud to collaborate with partners who work to inspire and empower vulnerable communities and can't wait to see this development complete.
