National Church Residences’ affordable development True Light Haven has opened! The grand opening ceremony was attended by prominent city leaders including city of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and city councilmember Antonio Brown. Other speakers included Natalie Hall, Vice Chair of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, Donna Tyler, Office Director of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and Mark Ricketts, President & CEO of National Church Residences.
Syndicated by NEF, True Light Haven is a four-story 124-unit senior (55+) building in Atlanta’s West Lake neighborhood. Apartments are target at those making at or below 60 percent of the local Area Median Income. The unit mix will consist of 77 one‐ and 47 two‐bedroom apartments. Residents will have access to a community room, business center, fitness room, library, sitting areas, and a walking/biking trail, as well as health-related education classes. In addition, the development provides transport for residents to and from where they need to go. Free utilities and WiFi are also provided. These extensive services are an innovative means of providing support to residents and resonate with our mission to find new ways to serve to those in need through the expansion of affordable housing.
True Light Haven marks NEF’s 14th partnership with National Church Residences (NCR). A faith-based organization with staff across the nation, NCR’s mission is “to provide high quality care, services and residential communities for all seniors.” Our seniors are an underserved community across the country and deserve the aid and respect that supportive affordable housing developments like True Light Haven provide. NCR’s many such developments are evidence of commitment to their mission, and we are proud to continue to work alongside them to expand seniors’ access to quality affordable housing.
