“The Anchor is a testament to what happens when partners committed to uplifting vulnerable communities come together through thoughtful collaboration. Now, those recovering from substance use disorders and homelessness not only have the opportunity to survive, but the ability to thrive in an environment that supports their growth and independence,” said Kristen Senff, Managing Director Central Region at NEF about the recent grand opening of The Anchor at Mariners Inn in Detroit.

The Anchor expands the capacity of Mariners Inn, a 100-year-old leading treatment and recovery center, to support individuals with substance use disorder and now offers services to women for the first time in its history. With the addition of the Anchor, there are 40 fully-furnished recovery housing apartments for residents with substance use disorder and 44 permanent supportive housing units for residents exiting homelessness.

NEF is grateful for the opportunity to work with partners who share in our mission and vision that increased access to affordable housing empowers every individual and family to reach their full potential. Learn more about the Anchor at Mariners Inn here.
